Kaikoma Report as of 2023-09-25

Koganezaki_with_sailboat_in_sunset

The following are photos and explanations of the repairs done by Arari Shipbuilders over the week., Kaikoma is ready to be lowered into the water and I requested that it be done this weekend when everyone is there. Please let me know if everyone is in agreement.
Once placed in the water, an engine check can be made, someone can be lifted to the top of the mast to check the light and perhaps even a short voyage outside the harbor can be made.

SOME GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There has been no water leakage since the windows were last "fixed!"

Main Panel Water Pump Switch

This switch works correctly for turning the main water pump on.

Stern Toilet Water Switch

This switch is not working. See next photo for operating switch

Stern Toilet Water Switch (Temporary)

Rewiring takes considerable work, so Arari Shipbuilders provided this temporary fix. The red wiring can be used to connect to the switch in the toilet. The Ground Board can be used for other devices as well.

Forward Water Tank Filler and Breather Piping

The deck fitting was replaced. The original piping fits correctly and was therefore re-connected.

Forward Water Tank, Gauge, and Discharge Piping

The water tank is NOT a water heater unit. It is a normal water tank. The problem of leakage was that the discharge piping seen in the lower part of the photo was disconnected.

If hot water is a required item, Arari recommends that an engine water heating system be installed.

The water tank is now fully operational.

Forward Toilet Water Switch and Piping (1)

The wiring has been fixed to the switch in the wall and water is now available in the front toilet.

Mast Head Light Wiring

Apparently either the light in the head light has burnt out or the wiring in the mast is bad.
This should be fixed prior to leaving Arari for Shimizu.
